Ear Syringing / Ear Irrigation

Ear syringing is a widely used method for removing excess earwax by flushing the ear canal with a gentle stream of warm water. During the procedure, our Audiologist directs the water into the ear canal, dislodging and washing out the accumulated wax. The process is typically safe and effective for most individuals and can provide immediate relief from symptoms such as hearing loss, discomfort, or a feeling of fullness caused by wax buildup.

Ear Micro-Suction

Microsuction uses a small, gentle vacuum to extract wax directly from the ear canal. Performed by our Audiologists, the procedure involves using a specialized microscope to provide a clear view of the ear canal, ensuring that the wax is removed carefully without causing harm. This method is quick, comfortable, and suitable for most individuals, offering immediate relief from symptoms such as hearing blockage or discomfort caused by earwax build-up.

Preparation: Please use oil for at least 3 days before your appointment. We recommend Earol, a natural olive oil spray, to soften the wax effectively.
Unsure if you have earwax? Drop-in Ear Checks are only 5euros. Check with our receptionist to confirm. Note: all appointments are non-refundable.
No wax policy: If no earwax is found during your scheduled removal appointment, the fee will still apply.
Age requirement: Services are available for individuals aged 14 and above.
Medical concerns: If you are experiencing ear pain or discharge, please consult your GP before booking an appointment.
Infection policy: We cannot perform earwax removal if you are taking antibiotics for an ear infection or have an active ear infection/discharge.
Unsuitable for certain conditions: Ear irrigation or syringing cannot be performed if you have a history of perforated eardrums.
